In 2001, while at Canterbury University, my work experience at Nelson Electrical led on to an employment opportunity. After a few years of gaining experience in instrumentation and electrical work, I sought out new challenges.

 

We initially formed Marlborough Electrical to service the growth industry in Blenheim, later rebranding to New Zealand Electrical Solutions to better represent the markets we found ourselves servicing. While Nelson was always home, opportunities presented themselves from Whangarei to Dunedin, as well as completing design and build projects for a number of international customers from Fiji to the US.

 

With growing experience it became apparent that to ensure the quality of our projects we would need to control all components of each electrical project from design right through to installation and commissioning.

 

We are fortunate to have secured a number of key electrical and engineering staff that have allowed our project-orientated company to grow rapidly. Amalgamating with Nelson Electrical in recent years has further strengthened our servicing and engineering capacity, now employing over 50 staff
