Apprentice Electrician - Blenheim
We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated Apprentice Electrician (Industrial) to join our small team in Blenheim.
This is a full-time permanent position on offer with the expectation of long-term commitment. Applications will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
You will be required to undertake and complete a training programme of approximately 3.5 years with ETCO to achieve your National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Level 4). This requires commitment to the role and commitment to study and to complete the Apprenticeship Scheme.

Key Responsibilities

Assist Tradesmen to perform a variety of electrical work in the installation, maintenance and repair of our customers electrical systems and equipment, repair wiring and electrical equipment as needed

Assist Tradesmen to plan, install, inspect, maintain and repair electrical systems including conduit and duct systems, light and power circuits, motor appliances, generators and switches

Assist Tradesmen in performing business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment

Carry out and document risk assessments prior to work

Complete and provide required paperwork including job sheets, timesheets and health and safety documents to administration within the agreed timeframe

Assist the Tradesmen in building and maintaining relationships with clients and promote NZ Electrical Solutions

Carry out other related duties as required
About You

While experience isn't a requirement, any exposure to the trades would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following requirements:

Full NZ driver licence
-
Hold a NCEA Level 2 or equivalent level of achievement
-
A learning record with achievements in English, Science, Physics & Mathematics
-
Mechanical aptitude
-
Physically fit
-
Excellent communication skills and a desire to work as part of a team.

A positive attitude with a commitment to training and personal development

A willingness to work overtime where required
